Acer TravelMate 4600 Laptop Review

If you want to get a notebook offering quality performance to meet your business needs or the one that’s ideal for home-use, you may select the Acer TravelMate 4600 laptop. With a long battery life and high-quality performance, this laptop is adept in performing simple tasks like document creation, sending and receiving e-mails, Internet surfing etc. The Acer TravelMate 4600 laptop weighs 6.4 pounds and has the dimensions as – 13.2 inches width, 1.4 inches thickness and 11.2 inches depth. The 0.8-pound AC adapter of this product, which is three-pronged, has the size of a small candy bar mobile phone.

The Acer TravelMate 4600 laptop features Acer’s signature keyboard that has an ergonomically curved body. Such a structure makes it very comfortable for users to type the data. Though the touch pad is quite wide, the mouse buttons are awkwardly small as a big scroll button is placed between them. The system of Acer TravelMate 4600 laptop does not have multimedia controls. However, it makes up for this by offering a useful Wi-Fi on/off button as well as three quick-launch buttons (that can be configured) for applications. It operates softly, except for some occasionally loud sounds emitted by the DVD burner and a few noisy spins made by the internal fan during the machine’s boot-up.

During our Acer TravelMate 4600 laptop review, we appreciated the bright and large 15-inch display of the product. However, the presence of a higher native resolution as compared to the existing 1,024×768 (XGA) would have been cherished more by its users. The two speakers of the system located on the front frame lacked bass and got distorted when we played it at full volume.

The Acer TravelMate 4600 laptop offers a complete collection of jacks, ports and slots. This product also comes with NTI CD & DVD Maker along with a CyberLink PowerDVD that helps in disc burning and playback, respectively. The users of Acer TravelMate 4600 laptop get an Acer utility for power management, management of passwords and a few other fundamental settings. So, if you want to own a low-cost laptop, don’t look beyond the Acer TravelMate 4600.
