DOCOMICS – Read Comics on Cell Phones

Reading comics on your cell phone will not be a mere dream anymore, it’s going to come true as Tata Docomo partnered NTT DOCOMO to facilitate users with the option to read comics on their cell phones by an application. That way the users can read full comics with special effects, frame by frame, or just download the comics by a WAP site. Apparently the charges are set to Rs. 15 per comics chapter, which might sound a little too much but given that there is no charge for the data transfer might make it look a little less costly.
I had written an article about how to read Comics on your Mobile Phones about a few months back and I was waiting for an update on this topic. Though, I must add that mobile services are badly misused in India, people drive cars, ride bikes or just walk on roads with a mobile in their hands, call it talking on the go, but it’s really unsafe. If the same lot of people starts reading comics on the go, it will surely cause more accidents. However, leaving the negative talks aside, over all a service like this has been expected for a long time. The youth in India likes to read comics big time, and a unique service like the Docomics or call it do-comics will surely get a big buzz throughout the “mobilosphere”.
Tata Docomo is not the only one in the market though, it can be called the first but others like, Rediff, Airtel etc. are also bringing such services. However, I got doubts over the Japanese cartoons that they might get enough fans in India, am personally not a big fan of Manga, but had always expected Docomo to bring Manga into India as the NTT Docomo is a Japanese company.
I strongly suggest u to use relevant image in the posts.. it makes the post attractive..

i try not to use images in post, it might look good but am afraid of copyright issues, do you purchase the images that you use on your blog? what if tomorrow someone complains your host and get your domain and hosting suspended?
I think using images is not a problem as long as proper credit is given. Give a backlink from where you took the pic. No website minds that.
Just be careful of images taken of events or presentations which are exclusive. Or technical charts. The copyright policy is usually mentioned quite prominently with these images anyways.

but, from now on will put images in posts and give proper credits, read a few similar articles on the topic on shoutmeloud blog about using images in posts, and looks like you guys are right, perhaps its not as bad as i was thinking…

Great service, so now tatadocomo costumers can read their comic whenever or wherever they are.

Yep, good way of spending free or boring time
I wont be surprised at all when this leads to comics with a small amount of animation to them. Similar to how the NFL does a lot of promo ads where just the main players image will be getting bigger against the backdrop.

Everybody likes to read comic books, But, what if I have a z series mobile worth 1600 Rupees. I don’t think this application can help me until I get the dream phone.

Yep, there is some phone requirements too, you got to have a high end phone as well.
Wow, it just shows how technology has evolved and what we can expect in the near future whereby many more things will be able to be done via cell phones.
